The Enchanted Forest 2024 has returned in spectacular style with its new show, Symphony of Nature, captivating visitors once again in the breathtaking surroundings of Faskally Wood in Pitlochry. Running until 3 November, this year’s edition is an awe-inspiring celebration of the natural world, seamlessly blending light, sound, and nature into a symphony that enchants every visitor.
From the moment you step into the forest, you are transported into a magical world where vivid colors and inspirational music come together in harmony. The creative team has brought back Beira, the beloved Goddess of Winter from last year’s show, who acts as the mystical conductor of the forest’s melodies. Her enchanting presence sets the stage for an immersive journey through the woods, where dazzling light displays, atmospheric sounds, and mesmerising fountains create a dreamlike experience that immerses you in nature’s beauty.
One of the standout moments is the Loch Dunmore light show, a spectacular spectacle of animation, projections, lasers, and beams that dance across the water, celebrating the interconnectedness of nature and the symphony it creates. The show pushes the boundaries of outdoor displays, bringing visitors closer to nature through cutting-edge technology and innovative artistry.
Adding to this year’s magic is the debut of the In Bloom sculpture, an interactive sonic artwork inspired by the process of pollination. Funded by Creative Scotland and designed by Kumquat Lab, this sculpture invites visitors to create their own musical compositions by interacting with its light-infused, flower-like design. This hands-on experience brings a delightful and unique touch to an already stunning display.
As always, The Enchanted Forest has not only enchanted visitors but also made a significant impact on the local community. With 85,000 visitors expected to flood Highland Perthshire, the event generates an estimated £10.38 million for the local economy, a testament to its value as a major feature of the autumn tourism calendar. Proceeds from the show also support local community groups, further strengthening its ties to the region.
With Symphony of Nature, The Enchanted Forest 2024 has once again outdone itself, offering an unforgettable, magical experience that brings together the best of art, technology, and nature. Seldom have I seen such a large scale event, in a small town, planned, organised and managed so expertly by an enthusiastic and capable team.
