Contemporary interior styling combined with an unconventional exterior; distinctive within a traditional seaside town; Ee-Usk on Oban’s seafront, is an attractive building housing an award winning seafood restaurant.
The uniquely but aptly named Ee-Usk; Gaelic for “fish”; harvests the freshest possible produce from its seaside doorstep; in fact, fortunate visitors can view their lunch arriving by boat, immediately prior to arriving on their plate.
A light, welcoming and simple restaurant, where every table has the best view either from the unfussy tables on the entrance level or the elevated mezzanine, the ever changing seascape serves up a constant source of activity and a novel pastime for each diner.
The menu is straightforward with an emphasis on fresh, simple food using stunning ingredients and a vast knowledge of the preparation of all things seafood, complimented by a brilliantly extensive wine list.
Not particularly a seafood lover, I was hugely surprised at my absolute enjoyment of the fishcakes, simply presented along with an innovative take on typical accompaniments. No wonder then, that freshly served catches and uncomplicated values has earned this particular restaurant so many celebrated awards, of which they are quite rightly proud.
