A Stylish Stay at Hotel du Vin Newcastle
Nestled along the banks of the River Tyne, Hotel du Vin Newcastle offers a perfect blend of luxury, charm, and history. Housed in a beautifully restored Edwardian building, this boutique hotel is the ideal choice for those seeking a unique and elegant stay in one of the UK’s most dynamic cities. During my recent visit, I was struck by the hotel’s attention to detail and commitment to making each guest feel special.
Upon arrival, the hotel’s distinctive facade stood out immediately, with its grand architecture hinting at the history within. Inside, I was greeted by a warm, contemporary atmosphere, where exposed brickwork and modern touches combine effortlessly. The staff were welcoming and eager to assist, offering a seamless check-in process and helpful tips for exploring the city.
My suite was a highlight of the stay. Spacious and tastefully designed, the décor retained a sense of the building’s industrial heritage while exuding comfort and sophistication. My room featured a king-sized bed dressed in high-quality linens, a roll-top bath, an extensive walk-in shower and large windows offering views of the river. It was clear that no detail had been overlooked—from the Nespresso machine to the luxurious L’Occitane toiletries, everything was curated to ensure a first-class experience.
Dining at the hotel’s Bistro du Vin was another memorable experience. The menu offers a selection of French-inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients. I opted for a perfectly cooked steak frites, accompanied by a selection of wines from their impressive cellar. The ambiance in the restaurant could have been more intimate, which would make it ideal for both romantic dinners and casual meals with friends. I did spot a wine tasting room, yet to try, but with the walls lined with global wines and a large round tasting table, this is one for a second visit.
The location of Hotel du Vin is also unbeatable. Situated in the vibrant Ouseburn district, it’s just a short walk from Newcastle’s city center and iconic landmarks like the Tyne Bridge. There are plenty of bars, cafes, and cultural hotspots nearby, making it easy to explore the local area.
My stay at Hotel du Vin Newcastle was a wonderful experience. The combination of stylish design, excellent service, and prime location makes it an ideal choice for travelers looking for something special. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel promises a comfortable and memorable stay in the heart of Newcastle.
