Scotland on Sunday’s, annual event in association with Ocean Terminal, provided a glitzy and glamorous evening celebration, on the waterfront at Leith.
Nominations and voting had already been conducted in the lead up to the Eligibles party through Scotland on Sunday’s Spectrum Magazine, with the final 100 most successful, single, Scottish ladies and gents attending the notable event.
The nature of the criteria afforded a broad spectrum of ages and professional talent; Maggie Ramage; a particularly vivacious, retired but now working again, artist and lecturer from Glasgow has been featured at the London Film Festival and her artwork has been commissioned for children’s books and lifestyle magazines. Jamie McGeechan’s passion for music is apparent from the moment you meet him; an engaging, charismatic 26 year old musician from Ayr, his success has been born from producing his own music with Little Fire, travelling worldwide and supporting acts such as JLS and Joan Armatrading.
With so many compelling and enterprising success stories in one room, the evening was destined to be a dynamic, networking triumph, with notable highlights from Edinburgh burlesque queen, Hettie Heartache, red carpet photos by Cate Gillon, co-hosts Pure Spa, Build a Bear, Ortak Jewellery and Game Digital and the many professional staff of Ocean Terminal who ensured their very eligible guests were catered for admirably.
The entire event was victoriously brought together on the evening by Fiona Leith, Editor of Spectrum magazine, who warmly welcomed each guest personally – a lovely touch.
Surely the ultimate in matchmaking and a masterpiece in introducing those at the pinnacle of their chosen profession, Eligibles epitomises those who have strived and dedicated themselves to their field of work and just one reason Scotland should be very proud.
