A gathered crowd, buzzing with anticipation for the nightly event, greeted us at The Creagan Inn last week; all congregated with one common purpose; expectation palpable in the air.
Overlooking Loch Creran, with the water lapping literally at the foot of the restaurant’s magnificent deck, the promise was that of a wonderful West Coast Sunset – the best in fact and a stunning gift of nature.
Resplendent in the light of the sinking sun, and in complete stunned silence, spectators stood, sat and lay to witness, not a once in a lifetime event, but a nightly occurrence at The Creagan Inn, such is the amazing location and view.
The Creagan additionally, is a friendly and very welcoming Inn, not only with a vastly enviable location but distinctive bistro style menu and surprising wine list. Fresh seafood reigns supreme – the scallop mornay was, simply fabulous and the added bonus of a picture perfect backdrop merely added to the overall experience.
There is a feeling that the night doesn’t fully begin until the sun has set, however Creagan is open throughout the day serving delicious home-baking for morning coffee or afternoon tea and the same daylight view and changing menu to welcome returning guests, of which there are many! Children and waggie-tails are more than accommodated and there are nearby mooring buoys for passing yachts – fabulous considering the vast water access.
The Creagan Inn is a meeting place for visitors of varying purpose but two things can be guaranteed; no-one leaves disappointed and everyone departs with at least one good photo and many wonderful memories of their sunset at The Creagan Inn.
