The eagerly anticipated 11th annual awards took place in The Edinburgh Sheraton; the culmination of a year of planning, nominating, voting and judging, celebrated in one night at The Scottish Hotel Awards 2014.
The Scottish Tourism Industry is renowned for a great prowess in partying and this their night of the year, was to be no exception with celebrations continuing well into Monday morning. Indeed, there was plenty to celebrate with hosts; Sheraton Edinburgh picking up a number of accolades: Front of House Team of the Year, Banqueting Team of the Year, Business Hotel of the Year, Breakfast Hotel of the Year for Large Hotels and Service Excellence Hotel of the Year; certainly an evening to remember for a great team.
“An International Night” was the presiding theme of the evening, reflecting an exciting year ahead for Scotland with the Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup, Homecoming and Referendum on Independence. However for me, it additionally represented our country’s wonderful ability and renowned skills in being a friendly, warm and welcoming country to those who grace our shores and enjoy the multi-faceted skills of our thriving tourism industry.
Seeing some of those businesses owners who I have been fortunate enough to visit and get to know, being recognised with a variety of awards, provided me with great joy and it was an honour to celebrate with them during a fabulous evening in our Capital city.
Congratulations once again to all the award winners and my personal thanks to Hotel PR for the kind invite.
